SUMMARY:

The exterior tech handles landscaping and ground maintenance activities in designated areas surrounding the facility to include the casino, lodge and RV park. The exterior tech carries out requests and assignments set forth by the exterior tech lead or maintenance supervisor, either verbally or through computerized tracking system, to ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks. Work may be based on seasonal priorities, changing weather conditions, and priorities that are subject to change depending on need. The exterior tech has hands-on working knowledge of a variety of tools and equipment to complete assigned tasks, and is able to differentiate the proper use of tools for the task at hand; able to identify, report and proactively handle exterior maintenance issues to get the job done; communicates verbally, or via email/text with team members and provide pass down information on work progress and unresolved issues on a daily basis.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and/or independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work as directed and/or within assigned area/zone performing routine maintenance.
• Ability to operate company vehicles, i.e., pickup truck/snow plow, forklift, and tractor.
• Ability to operate power washer for exterior cleaning; gutters, rooftops, and wash racks.
• Ability to operate lawn mowers, trimmers, shears and leaf/snow blowers.
• Empties trash containers and disposes of waste in designated receptacles and locations.
• Handles routine landscaping/grounds maintenance; trimming, watering, mowing, de-weeding, etc.
• Keeps parking lots, landscape areas, sidewalks, rock gardens, and all entryways clean and clear.
• Maintains irrigation systems, sprinklers, valves, watering schedules, seasonal upkeep and fertilization.
• Maintains RV park grounds, common areas, ramps and signage.
• Monitors and maintains the growth of trees, lawns, plants, shrubs and flower beds.
• Removes/replaces troublesome trees/weeds/shrubs as needed.
• Exercises water shut-off valves at required intervals.
• Installation/removal of signage/banners for event advertising.
• Installation of parking cones and barricades for traffic control and installation/replacement of parking blocks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to service/maintain landscaping equipment a plus!
• Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other team members/staff.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, square footage, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Work Order System desired; able to use PC/device for email/text communication.
• Must have a valid WA State driver’s license at time of appointment and must keep active/valid during course of employment.
